Teaching Photography

Symposium organized

by the Museum Folkwang

and the Wüstenrot Stiftung

21 May – 22 May, 2010

The symposium Teaching Photography offers the possibility of an exchange on various issues as well as time for new ideas and experimental paths. A meeting and discussion between European teachers and artists, curators, critics and interested public is the core of the symposium.  Representatives of European institutions from Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, France and the Czech Republic will be speaking. Koka Ramishvilli from Georgia, who also teaches in Geneva, will be our non-European guest. The symposium will also offer the possibility of getting to know various training opportunities and teaching methods.

A publication from the Wüstenrot Stiftung will appear with the exhibition and symposium Teaching Photography. Moreover, the applications of the candidates nominated by ten universities for the first ever Steidl-Buchpreis will be shown.
