Hacking the City is an innovative project reacting to changing structures in the public, mobility and communication in the city. The project is mainly focussed on Essen, Cultural Capital Ruhr.2010. Participants are artists, nerds, web-designers, communications guerrillas, street artists, performers and musicians.

The German Poster Museum is unique in Germany and has one of the largest specialized collections in the world: Today the collection holds more than 340,000 posters from politics, the economy and culture.

How to get there: From the Essen central station, you can reach the Museum Folkwang with FolkwangBus (free of charge) every 15 minutes directly to the main entrance of the museum

Opening hours: Tue to Sun 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fri to 10.30 p.m.

For the first time the Museum Folkwang presents selected objects from its collection in an interactive online catalogue. 

The Kunstring Folkwang organizes ca. 200 events per year, thus supporting and encouraging efforts in the areas of music, dance and theatre. Membership is open to all.
