Save the date: Summer Festival at the Museum Folkwang on 29 August 2025
On Friday, 29 August, from 6 pm, you can look forward to a varied and colourful programme throughout the museum grounds under the motto Voices. This year's summer party will focus on the voice in both a musical and political sense. The Museum Folkwang is presenting concerts, guided tours, artist talks and creative hands-on workshops in the special exhibition Paula Rego. The Personal and The Political, the collection and the garden. Choirs, eloquent performances, the bands Endless Wellness (Vienna), Schramm (Berlin) and DJ sets with Yoka Sessions (Essen) and Céline Dijon will provide a wide range of entertainment. Young visitors can also look forward to special highlights, such as the torchlight tour and the children's concert Ingas Garten. The programme will be complemented by exciting discussions, including a talk on the role of cultural institutions in urban spaces with Hedwig Fijen (Director of the Manifesta Foundation), Stephan Muschick (Managing Director E.ON Foundation) and Peter Gorschlüter (Director Museum Folkwang).
Culinary delights will also be provided: the bar of the Junger Kunstring Folkwang, the Edda restaurant and our partner, the Bonnekamp Foundation, will offer you a varied selection of food and drinks. The summer event will be followed by an after-show party in the nearby Goethebunker.
