Farbentänze – Eine Zeitreise in den Expressionismus

Folkwang Music School and Museum Folkwang present two performances in the Karl Ernst Osthaus-Saal on 27.11. at 2 and 3.30 p.m.

Expressionism, as an artistic movement of heightened expressive qualities, has been influential in many other fields besides painting and graphic art: Architecture, literature, theatre, cinema, music and dance. On the occasion of the exhibition Expressionists at the Folkwang, the Folkwang Music School, in cooperation with the Education and Outreach Department of the Museum Folkwang, has intensively explored this theme and brought Expressionism closer to young people in a creative and creative way in a joint stage project. At the centre of the Colour Dances is a dance performance accompanied by music of the time, including works by Maurice Ravel, Béla Bartók and Arnold Schönberg. In addition, there will be literary texts of Expressionism, which will be recited or staged. The stage design was created by students of the Folkwang Music School's Fine Arts Department in coordination with the dance and drama departments.

Admission is free.
